Our Learning Promise

Why We Built TinyProf

We believe every student deserves a patient tutor who explains the why behind the answer — not just the answer itself.

TinyProf isn't about getting homework done faster. It's about building the confidence to tackle the next problem on your own.

Our Promise to Students

We'll never just give you the answer.

When you're in learning mode, we guide you with questions. We break problems into steps. We celebrate when you figure it out — because you figured it out.

  • We explain concepts in ways that make sense for your age
  • We encourage questions — there's no such thing as a silly one
  • We help you build problem-solving skills that last

Our Promise to Parents

We're a tutor, not a shortcut.

TinyProf is designed to sit beside your child, not do their work for them. Our Socratic mode never reveals answers directly — it guides students to discover solutions themselves.

  • Guardian mode lets you see full explanations to help teach
  • Child mode uses guided questions to promote real learning
  • We're transparent about being AI-powered

The Student's Part

Learning is a two-way street. TinyProf works best when students:

  • Try first — Give the problem a real attempt before asking for help
  • Stay curious — Ask follow-up questions when something doesn't click
  • Own your learning — Use explanations to understand, not to copy
  • Be honest — Your teachers want to help you too

AI With Integrity

TinyProf is powered by artificial intelligence. We're upfront about that.

Our AI is designed to teach, not to trick. We don't pretend to be human. We don't hide that answers are AI-generated. When you share a TinyProf explanation, it's clearly marked as AI-assisted.

AI is a powerful learning tool — but it's a tool, not a replacement for your own thinking.

Academic Honesty

TinyProf is not a cheating tool.

We built TinyProf to help students understand their homework, not to submit AI-written answers as their own. Using TinyProf explanations to learn is great. Copying them directly into assignments is not.

When in doubt, ask your teacher how they'd like you to use tutoring tools.

Questions?

We'd love to hear from educators, parents, and students about how we can better support honest learning.
